I have not been back in Tanzania for a month and distributed food relief among the Maasai.
Last week I was in Mswakini for the first time since the beginning of December.
I was totally chocked over what I saw for everywhere I looked there were dead animals. The stench of dead animals hung in my nose even hours after returning home and I was almost in chock. My heart cried for this people that are living such hard lives. We drove past the lake which was empty and they desperately tried do dig for water in the bottom of the lake in the hope that they would find a little water for their animals. It hurt my heart to see and I could hardly bear it. p>
We are really in need of your prayers for rain. It is a huge need that the rain comes nice evenly and quietly over a long period of time so they can once again get a harvest, grass for their cattle and water. THANK YOU that you will support us in this prayer.
We will continue our work among the maasai in these 3 different areas with food distribution and the pastor for our church here in Tanzania has also asked for help to distribute maize in the hardest hit outposts of his.
People are dying out there especially old and newborn being breast feed as many mothers are so famine that they do not have enough milk for their babies. It is so terrible and you feel so helpless in such a situation.
We would like to collect money for maize to help these poor people.
