Happy New Year beloved friends,
The New Year has begun and I feel like so much has already taken place.
We had a wonderful visit of Mama Lightness who is the woman that was beaten by her husband. She came to visit together with her daughter Elishaja.
It was a bit scary to sit with her and her and hear her tell the whole terrible situation she had experienced. The husband had suddenly come home one night and locked the children into their room and as she expressed it herself, his intent was to kill her.
She told us many times while she cried:” It is truly a Gods miracle that I am not dead and also how He protected my head, nose and eyes.”
He hit and beat on me and suddenly I just lost consciousness.
It has now been 2 months since and all honor to God mama Lightness has been released from hospital. They have removed the metal again from her upper jaw and she looks beautiful.
We were so surprised to see how well it had grown back together after all those beatings.
In Dar Es Salaam there was a Christian family that took good care of her and gave her good food so that she could heal well.
Look at how beautiful she looks again. She is a living proof of God still does miracles.
She is currently staying with her mother together with the children as she is still too afraid to go back to the village as the husband has still not been arrested. The police are still looking for him and we hope they will catch him soon so that she does not have to live in fear for his return as he is so dangerous.
She asked us to greet you so much.
As she said she does not have words to express her thankfulness for the help she had gotten through our mission work. “I would like to say thank you so much for the help to cover the cost of my hospital stay and not least the prayers for my difficult situation. I am asking my heavenly Father to bless and pay you back for all your care and help because without that help I don´t think I would have survived”.
Dear friends please receive this, her loving greeting and thankfulness from the depth of her heart. She is really so thankful to Jesus for letting her live so she can still be with her kids.

The father disappeared and they have had no contact with him for several years. Ruth is a bright girl in school. Her school decided to sponsor her schooling because they are really poor. For various reasons the school recently shut down and Ruth had to find another school.
The mother cannot afford to send Ruth to another school. Ruth’s grandfather is a Maasai and he wants to have her back in Maasai land. He does not want a girl to get eductaed, but instead follow the Maasai traditions for girls: to be married. Maasais think that only boys should get educated.
Ruth’s mother told me that Ruth’s grandfather had received an offer from an elderly, wealthy Maasai who wanted to pay a very large dowry in the form of many cows in order to marry Ruth. Ruth had been desperate because she wanted to stay in school, get her education and choose her husband when the time was ripe. For this reason the mother and Ruth came to our office asking for help.
We trusted God and sent Ruth to a good, Christian school where she is thriving.
We received a sponsor who will support her until Form 4 is completed. But Ruth wishes to continue for another two years and graduate from High School. If any of you would like to support Ruth for a few more years please write us or send a gift to our missions account. Please earmark it “Ruth”.
