Dear Friends.
I believe spring is on its way to you after a long winter. Once again all the beautiful spring flowers will start blooming and the birds will sing. It is always such a lovely season.
Here in Tanzania we do not have seasons like you do in Europe, but at the moment a big avocado tree in our yard is having some very big and juicy fruits. It bears hundreds of fruits every year, and they are always a part of our meals. Also we share some of the fruits with our people.
Right now we are in the middle of the rainy season and it is raining! It has been many years since it rained this much in Arusha and at many other places here in this country. The rain began on 20 March and so far we have received 354 millimetres. Our dear Masai’s have received a lot of rain and we are all very grateful.
The reason for this mail is because we would like to share something with you.
It is concerning our dear Pudde and her children. They have a lot of problems with the water supply at their house. Because of that, we had a well digger examine whether there is any water in their underground and our investigations turned out to be positive.
Therefore our plan is to dig a well for her. According to our calculations it may be done for between 15 and 20,000 DKK including the purchase of an ordinary hand pump.

We believe that the Lord is pleased when we help people like Pudde who takes care of the children of the fatherless.
In January we made sure that the house was supplied with electric current and they are very grateful for that. The children are now able to do their homework after it gets dark. Praise the Lord for that.
Pudde is sending you, dear friends, all her appreciation for your love and concern. She is so strengthened by the fact that she has received many friends like you who help her run this home for orphans and poor children.

The father disappeared and they have had no contact with him for several years. Ruth is a bright girl in school. Her school decided to sponsor her schooling because they are really poor. For various reasons the school recently shut down and Ruth had to find another school.
The mother cannot afford to send Ruth to another school. Ruth’s grandfather is a Maasai and he wants to have her back in Maasai land. He does not want a girl to get eductaed, but instead follow the Maasai traditions for girls: to be married. Maasais think that only boys should get educated.
Ruth’s mother told me that Ruth’s grandfather had received an offer from an elderly, wealthy Maasai who wanted to pay a very large dowry in the form of many cows in order to marry Ruth. Ruth had been desperate because she wanted to stay in school, get her education and choose her husband when the time was ripe. For this reason the mother and Ruth came to our office asking for help.
We trusted God and sent Ruth to a good, Christian school where she is thriving.
We received a sponsor who will support her until Form 4 is completed. But Ruth wishes to continue for another two years and graduate from High School. If any of you would like to support Ruth for a few more years please write us or send a gift to our missions account. Please earmark it “Ruth”.
